last time I got a 26 on the ACT (took it as a sophmore)

English: 34-36, thought I did really well
Math: 23-25, really blanked out on this one
Reading: 33-36, again really well
science:25-27, I’m just not very good at science/math (at least on the act)

Good luck to everyone, hopefully my score will go from a 26 to a 28-30. Next time I’ll have to study my math

I didn’t think any of it was too bad.

Composite: 33-35
English: 34-36 (I’m pretty sure I missed one which sucks because I was shooting for a 36)
Math: 33-35 (I know I missed at least one here, probably two or three stupid mistakes too)
Reading: 34-36 (I felt pretty good about this, hoping for a 36)
Science: 33-36 (Surprisingly I felt that this section was really easy, and I only have a 30 on Science so far)

Essay: 9-11 (I felt really good about it, but then again I felt good about my 7 too; just noticed the coincidence of my predicted score and today’s date)

Praying for a 34-35, would be ecstatic for a 36.

E: 34 (-2)
M: 33 (-3)
R: 34 (-2)
S:26-29 (-6-10)

W:10

C: 32-33 (strongly dependent on science)

Hey guys, I think I’ve asked this question before but how would colleges such as Northwestern, Cornell, WashU, etc view my low science score. I got a 33 on science the first time I took the test, I don’t know what happened this time I guess I just lost focus. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised to get less than 26, my current range is rather optimistic.

Basically was it even worth retaking this test? My first time I got E:31, M:28, R:33, S:33, C:31. Should I cancel my scores soley because of science? Please help because I am really stressed right now.

MW2isawesome - Worst case scenario considering your predicted score is still a 32. Sure, the science section will be poor, but your composite still goes up. Plus, your superscored (or whatever term you would use) ACT would then be a 34.

I would suggest keeping the scores.

English-35
Math-32
Reading-36(Woot!)
Science-24-27 (LOL I hate science)

Composite 32-33

Composite: 34-36

English- 35-36 (Very easy section this time)
Math- 34-35 (Got the x=pi question wrong for sure)
Reading- 34-36
Science- 34-36

Essay: 7 at most -.- question totally threw me off.

Just found out I missed one on Science. No 36 for me. =(

(I suck as Science, I marvelled at the 33 I got on my first practice test. I was ecstatic when I finished on time and was hoping for a perfect 36)

Not sure if you’re all just very optimistic of if your all really smart.

Well congratulations! You all seemingly did fabulous!

English-- 29-32
Math–30-32
Reading-- 29-31
Science-- 18-34
Haha jk about science I really have no idea it could be great or horrible but I just want a 29 or higher in it.
Composite–30-32 HOPEFULLY

lol, either only the super genius people are posting their predictions, or we’re all screwed. my predictions:

best case:

eng: 32
math:33
reading: 31
science: 28
comp: 31

worst case:

eng: 30
math: 30
reading: 28
sci: 25
comp: 28

I feel like the science section was extremely difficult, especially in the 35 minutes ACT gives us. I mean, how can i read and analyze 7 passages with graphs and tables, then answer 40 questions, all in 35 minutes? Especially if the passages aren’t completely straight forward like this one.

Either way, im hoping to at least get a 29, so i stand a slim chance against othe ivy/high ranked schools. How did you guys do time-wise on the science?

^finished w/ 5 minutes to spare. Funny thing is that not once in the 3 practice tests i took did i EVER finish the Science portion.

My last 3 tests were:

E: 32, 36, 32
M: 33, 30, 34
R: 28, 30, 29
S: 31, 28, 30
C: 31.0, 31.0, 31.25

This test, I’m hoping for:

M: 36
E: 34
R: 30
S: 31
C: 32.75

Wow… 5 mins to spare? that’s great. with practice tests i also never finished in 35. i always took like 1-2 minutes extra. But the allele experiment in the science section was pretty confusing (to me at least). And the lack of a fighting scientests questions screwed up the balance of sections in science.

Wow I feel really stupid! I am just hoping for a 22 and you guys and girls are talking about a composite over 30. Anybody got some tips to help me get at 22?

Ok, after going through all the discussions again, it’s seems I’m at:
English: -1
Math: -1
Reading: -1
Science: -2

Barring any stupid mistakes or “debatable” questions (like prideful vs. reliant and mass vs. water/air),
I’m predicting (and hoping) for these scores:
English: 35
Math: 35
Reading: 35/36
Science: 33
Composite: 35

Worst case : 32
Best: 34

I pray for the latter D:

Im still at 35 math, possinly 36 science… (maybe 35? depending), 31+ english, 31 reading

comp: 33 with 35 science
super score: 34 with 36 science

C: 29-32 (30 in March)
R: 29-32 (30 in March)
E: 30-33 (32 in March)
M: 30-33 (29 in March)
S: 27-30 (30 in March)

Blah. I really hope I do better. I just don’t see it happening. I don’t feel like I did very strongly on the ACT this time around. It felt too much like last time (though it “felt” better, but only just).

I don’t know really. Does it makes sense to “feel” like you’ve done well/poorly? Whatever the case if there was improvement I don’t feel it was significant.

I know I did pretty badly at math. idk if I’ll break 30. I’m hoping my other sections will pull me up to at least a 34 composite. My god I need that 34.
