This might be a bit early but I thought I would make this thread now so no one gets a chance to post it under an ambiguous title tomorrow. Discuss all Science questions here after the test tomorrow. Good luck to all! :)

just a question, but where was the passage with two scientists disagreeing with each other? There was no such passage in this ACT, and I did 4 books all of which tell me there should have been such a section. The pedigree question was bs and wrong to boot. Student 2 says that the female (individual two) which is shaded is a tt. How is that possible? It must have a capital T in order for the allele to show. Any and all questions related to student 2’s observation is bad and faulty, if not totally illogical. The point of that pedigree passage was to trap you and waste your time on questions that can’t be answered… and man i fell for it.

^It does not say that you need T to have the trait. The first student hypothesized that you needed Tt or TT, whereas the second said that you needed tt.

^the student was told that the gene was recessive, the first one was told it was dominant.

I didn’t feel rush in English or math, but I felt lost in reading and science again. <_< Any predictions on the curve?

^^same. haha i had 20 minutes to nap for english and 10 for math. i had literally 1 second for reading

I completely messed up on the Science portion. The first two questions about color value. It was simple, but for some reason I kept thinking that the higher it was on the graph meant something else… Just a bad time. Haha

why did they use mesh bags? to allow water and stuff to flow in and out?

^yeah that’s what I put…
didn’t see it in the passage, but it made the most sense

wait let me get this correct the pedigree tree was free of the student hypothesis. It has the female marked for acquiring the trait. Now if you look at the daughters that the two individuals produced none of them show the trait…

but this is just getting confusing, where were the conflicting viewpoints passage? Don’t tell me that bs pedigree question was it. Because if it was then man, it really sucked.

Massgir92, I think you’re right.

Yep, that’s what I and some of my friends put as well.

q was equal to what? Was it the choice with the square root in it? q^2 = tt?

^Are you sure that’s why they used the bags? Wasn’t one of the answers to allow water and air to flow in and out, and another to let the mass flow out?

no they used mesh bags for the purpose of measuring carbon.

I put the the mesh bags were to let the litter pass in and out, which WAS stated in the passage.

does anyone else feel extremely rushed during science? seriously, i’ve determined that i can’t finish if i spend more than ten seconds trying to get the main point of the experiment

Yeah, they had to trap the carbon in the bag, I think.

^Yes that’s the answer that I was talking about. I agree.

Does anyone remember the question about the air with water or something. The answers were Trial 1 4 6 and 7 I think.

nicolenhs, i did too…i literally reread that section of the passage like 40 times though ahaha
