September 2011 ACT Discussion and Socres

@jessez2007 I agree

@azalea, the graphs showed the % of how much the two different types of light were reflected off of the car window. Thus, the one with the higher % was the one the person should wear shades to protect.

*into the car window

I thought today was harder than in June! I don’t know why, but I thought the English was harder and the reading. Science and math are always the same to me–not good not bad. I don’t know. Crossing my fingers for a 32 but I’m not so sure about this one…

The question in reading, something like why did her grandfather move? I put something about plantations…

@andrew, which one was it? do you remember?

is the ACT curve pre-determined based on how hard THEY think the test is? or is it based upon how well the students do as a whole

@anash, i don’t think it’s the plantations one. i really didn’t know, so i guessed the segregation movement in the u.s. one. i’m pretty sure that’s not it, though

It was A(or F), PXe i believe.

Segregation movement; it was obvious after it detailed how she followed the newspaper clippings and what not so she could “sail away.”

^what about the last question in the passage? about the type of eyewear that the driver of the car behind the other car should wear? i didn’t really know

Was “trugged” an answer on the english section, pertaining to walking through the blizzard on the beach?

the one about Hitchcock summarizing the first sentence…like artist with a signature?
Did you say no change?

@ azalea, i only remember there being one car…

I believe it was plantation conditions. It specifically mentioned her uncle or some other relation leading a plantation strike and then leaving.

i thought they moved to america to support the blacks in the segregation movement. the girl is the one who would strike. i don’t remember it saying that her grandfather, grandmother, or whatever led a plantation strike

what was the one with the corn available in the united states? like the stands or whatever
What did everyone put for that one?

^not sure, i put the one that had specific examples

Hey, I’m praying for a 36 on the math to up my score from my previous 35. I was wondering what the area of the triangle it initially gave you, or the side lengths of it, was. I forgot the formula so I did some hocus pocus and multiplied that triangle by like 10 or 5 or something idk. Thanks guys

^not sure what your referring to
