September 2011 ACT Discussion and Socres

Sorry if I was a ****** azalea. Forgive and forget I suppose?

If you properly used quotations, colons, semicolons, etc. i would expect around a 10. 11-12 would have to be downright spectacular.

I don’t know how you could write 2.45 pages on that boring prompt.

haha i love how you said “2.45”

Does anyone remember length of the sides they gave you in the parallelogram problem or if the answer was B or C? T_T Sorry for being a pest, lol.

Math and science I found to be bordering on impossible. I was completely exhausted and confused by the end of that test (then again I’m not a super genius like most of the people on this forum) but I thought English and Reading were pretty straightforward.

Thanks for the laugh!

haha yup wasn’t quite at 2.5 :stuck_out_tongue: and yeah i did a bunch of rambling, my intro took up 3/4 of the first page, and I even made up a fake 2 sentence quote from benjamin franklin haha… I kept hearing LENGHT=HIGHER SCORE so I just wrote my #$% off

@ masterflex: does it matter? isnt the area of a parallellagram b*h?

@ jd, haha i used a quote from jefferson that could be used in ANY ACT writing test

The majority of my paper was faked. I said how I knew people that died after curfew laws (true part) and how it damaged my psyche. It was loaded with somber BS.

Uh, yeah I know. It’s just I blanked out on the formula for it for some reason, and I solved the problem by drawing triangles throughout the parallelogram. If I knew the lengths of the sides that were given, I could double check my method to see if I came up with the answer 70 or not. If someone didn’t know the lengths, I remember putting an answer that was either B or C; I can’t remember, but at least then I could find some solace in the fact that maybe I did get it right, hehe. So there is some method to my madness :P

The Science section kicked my ass. Jesus.

@Syndekit Haha I wrote about how society has subdued the role of the parent and that parents are considered “friends”, causing the community to have to look out for the welfare of children

i beieve it was C or D

The science section was WAYY easier than the one in June…

Science sucked major donkey ______.

What’s the science section on the ACT like? What topics are on it?

biology chemistry physics and geology

He and his family moved to the lake every summer; they didn’t host a play in the barn every summer. He “crossed his fingers” when he entered the barn. Every piece of info in the passage points to the fact that he was just seeing the barn for the first time.
