If you took the ACT in a country outside the USA, discuss here! I thought this needed a separate thread since international students got a different form of the test.

Did you get the form that has alligators in the reading section?

I found Reading and English significantly easier than it was in June. Math and Science were MUCH harder.

I remember reading passages about Alligators, Democracy, interruptions to writing, and a passage about a girl who initially dislikes a guy and makes him cry.

Nat1818- I got the same paper as you
How did you fare in math and science?

In math, I think I got 2-3 answers wrong. Hopefully, the curve will be lenient and it will amount to a 34-35. In science, the passage about 3 students was impossible.

Do you remember the last science answer? I remember getting a C/H, and the answer choice read something like “between 15 and 16”.

Hmm, the one I had was different from what you guys had. In June it seemed like all the international students had the same form, which is odd itself but oh well :P

cellie, did u have 68B ?

reading about tramways, chimpanzees and large- scale photography?
how do you think the curves will be?

@Nat1818- could you complete the math without guessing?
what did you answer for the percentile question and the last two in math?
I was going well on the science section, but the 3 students…
I guessed on the last 3. it was crazy
Others were all good.

and btw… yeah I vaguely remember something like between 15 and 16.

for reading there was a lot of line thingy

Alex- yep, I had 68b.

I think English and reading curves will be pretty average but science may be lenient. Possibly math too because it seems like a lot of people found it more difficult than usual.

@abhi, My last answer in maths was 10, but I don’t remember the letter. My second-to-last answer in maths was 9/2 sin theta or something like that. It was option C.

Do you remember any answers in the social science passage like alluding to the problems of democracy" or something like that, and something like" minor interruptions can have a major impact on writing" in the humanities passage?

I don’t think I remember anything like the problem of democracy… but the second one was there… that was an answer…
in English, what did you answer for the quiet garden one? serene, suppressed, understated or peaceful?
I wanted to know the last two answers in math… I guessed both as A. :(

The answer, I believe, is suppressed. The question asked which one is the most inappropriate word choice. What answer did you get in the democracy passage what asked what the purpose of the last sentence in relation to the passage as a whole was?

Also, in science, the last question of the 3 students passage, they asked which set-ups after shaking would turn blue according to student 1. I remember putting all set-ups X,Y,and Z. What answer did you write?

yeah I too put in suppressed… I was confused between understated and suppressed…
I don’t exactly remember the reading question you are talking about.
Yeah, it was X, Y, Z.
Btw, could you solve the percentile question and the rectangle question (2xy=96)?
I didn’t read the percentile question properly, did some stupid calculations and wasted time. I had a revelation yesterday…

For the percentile question, a formula was provided in the question. I don’t remember the answer choice or the letter, though I believe I got it correct. I don’t remember any question on a rectangle.

How do you think the curves will be? I believe, we’ll have a normal English curve, a -1= 34 reading curve, a -1= 36 Math curve, and a -2= 36 Science curve

@abhi, what answer did you get in the English passage about Mozart and his sister, asking where the paragraph needed to be divided into 2? I got C.

I guess… it would English would be usual. Science would be normal. Reading would be -1=34 or something. Math would be -2=36
I don’t remember the option, but my answer choice was the sentence where their performance in front of the nobles was described.

In the Mozart passage, what did you write about testimonial to her skill?
What was not acceptable to testimonial?
tribute, evidence, allegations and praise.
And do you remember the 1st question on the English test?

Science will definitely have a more lenient curve. This June, I wrote the science test and finished well in time, had enough time to recheck answers, and got a 34. We had a normal curve in June and this time it was much harder.

I’m confident Allegations is the right answer. The first question in English asked what the correct order of sentences in the paragraph would be. I remember it was correct as it was.

Do you remember a reading question in the Prose passage that asked who was asking the questions? I thought it was the boy, but I’m pretty doubtful.
