September 2014 ACT Discussion (General)

NO DISCUSSING ANSWERS

Everything else goes.

english- 31
math- 36(unless i made silly errors, which is very possible, atleast a 34)
Reading:27(ihdk)
Science: 32(possibly higher)

English was normal/easy, Math was harder than normal (in terms of time) so I think it’ll be slightly curved, reading was no fun so I’m hoping for a generous curve there and the science slightly harder than normal so hopefully it’ll also be slightly curved.

English: Wasn’t that bad but I always don’t do well on those
Math: Not bad, same old, same old
Reading: difficult, messed up on my reading and couldn’t finish last few questions
Science: Surprisingly easy? I actually had 5 mins to check work

Anybody wanna give their curve predictions? also if known post june 2014 ACT curve

There are like fifty versions of this topic already, please pick one and stay on it.

Anybody here get tripped up a bit by the double passage?

It wasn’t necessarily hard is just that I want expecting it.

Also post past ACT scores. Got a 30 on the june ACT but people wee saying the june was harder than usual. Idk. :P

English: Same old same old, had a bit of time to check over answers.
Math: Definitely did better than last time, but took all of the time to complete it.
Reading: Did a little better. But nothing too hard.
Science: Definitely did better. Math and Science were my lowest scores last time.

English: I did pretty good. I felt really good about it
Math: Eh lots of questions I had to guess on.(this one was actually because of lack of knowledge.)
Reading: Again lots of questions to guess on (b/c of time)
Science: I did most of it except the viewpoints which I had to guess on. (b/c of time)

Overall, I have serious timing issues. I can only hope for the best.

What did you guys think of the essay topic? I thought it was okay, the April one was better though…

The science conflicting viewpoints article confused the hell out of me. I managed to maintain time in the end, but I made ‘educational guesses’ on most of the viewpoints questions. I didn’t really understand what they were talking about - it all sounded like mumbo-jumbo to me, but I’m more of a physics person than biology.

Son took version 72 A and thought math was easier than expected and English was harder than his practice tests. He had to guess on the last 3 Reading questions because of time and believes Science was a little more challenging. This was his first time
