Andycollege - i put "I recently read" because "In conclusion" wasnt necessary

What did you guys get for this one?

The equation 3x + 5y = 15 is moved ___ units (I forget the exact number) to the left and is rotated 90 degrees about the origin. What is the slope of this new line?

umm i put like -28/5 i think... wasnt exactly sure

How did you solve it?

well 5 to the right meant -5... and then it was like origin symmetry, so something to do w/ negs... but i wasnt positive on it.

I think I'm wrong but I put 5/3 for that one.

3x + 5y = 15
5y = 15 - 3x
y = 3 - 3x/5

Flipping -3x/5 90 degrees would make something perpendicular to it, and reciprocals are always perpendicular, so the answer is 5x/3

yeah that one teased my brain for a bit..then i was like duh and the proctor looked at me like i was an idiot when i rotated my test booklet lmao

can someone invite me to the chatroom?
my sn is
icedoutballa6525

what did you guys get for if the circle of the radius is 3, what is the radian degree of like 3 pi/5 or seomthing?

i had no clue how to do that.

I thought math & science were hard.

Math:

The rosebush question killed me.

a) I put 40 for the maximum number of bushes she could plant. I figured that if you take away 2 inches from each side, you had 2(20-4) + 2 (8-4) = 40, but I don't think that's right.
b) How the hec were you supposed to get the question that asked you the sin/cos/tan of <A? I guessed sin-1(8/20), had no idea how to do it.

Also, what was the answer to the matrix question? I put 4 because when I plugged that in I got -1/2 = -4/8.

Science

a) The fulcrum passage killed me. Couldn't understand it. What was the point of the fulcrum? I think I put so the girl had less weight to pull or something like that. Also, what were the directions? I put the girl pulled down while the fulcrum went up, or something like that.

b) also, in the leaves passage, it said that a scientist wanted to prove whether the results were due to different environments and then you had two yes/no/yes/no answers. I put that No, because the results of experiment 2 were the same as 1, but I had no idea.

Anyone know any of these? Thanks.

Science
a) The answer was both down.

b) Yeah, I put that too because both results from the 2 experiments were the same.

@ patrick

s = r x theta

so radius is 3 x angle 3pi/5

so it's 6pi/5

for the 90 degrees one i just put the equation in my graphing calculator and turned it 90 degrees. the slope should have been 5/3

For the fulcrum one, the answer definately wasn't both down. It's down for the spring, and an upward force on weight, cause if you pull down on one side, the other side will move up, thus forcing the weight up.

wait
if dr pepper was 28.3 and 7-up was 0
and it was out of 250 ml each
if you "mix" the two, it would be out of 500 ml
but the question asked for how much in 250 ml
so u divide by 2
i think i put 15 if that was an answer >_>

^ No it said 10 ml of dr. pepper and 20 ml of 7 up. The 20 ml of 7 up makes up 2/3 of the solution so it would dilute it to 10 I believe.
I'm fairly sure 10 was the answer but I'm still not sure

oh i either got my questions confused or i got it wrong lol
for teh last section of the science section
did you guys get something like
A, H,C, J, D, H?
or i might have my letters of A/F, B/G mixed up but just
1, 3, 3, 4, 4, 3?

@friedpenguins

it was both down. its just that since you were pulling down more on the spring it went up on the other side...i was drawing physics fbds in my head lol

The Writing section was strange...

It gave you the topic and told you to come up with a solution.

I thought you were always given two opposing viewpoints, and you had to choose between the two.
