September ACT-POST your Predictions and Thoughts!

that was rgiht? woah..lucky guess..i really hope i got lucky w/ my guessing on science!

yea good cuz anoter questions depended on whether it was 1/4 or not and i'm not in position to get much wrong :( who needs science anyway. yay for being IR major.

on one of last math qs....with the pie chart and converting to degrees for English or sumthing....did u guys put 30?

no....

that was 30%... not 30 degreees.

i put 108 degrees... but im not sure if im right.

54 i think cuz u had to get 30% of 360 (not gonna do it in my head again)

the angle was 108 degrees. (.30 x 360)

wait ya its 108

it is 108...i cant recall wherei saw the SAME PROBLEM but ive seen the identical problm b4. it's 108 cuz 30/100 = 30% so..u need 30% of 360..whic is 108 cuase 360 degrees in a circle

how about the mechancial advantage for i think the somata one?

was it 2?

and the graph when it said zinc concentration and then cms for x? what did the graph do? was it constant and then decrease exponentially?

i'm gonna turn off my laptop now, this is kinda scary/depressing.

OMG. Gahh..

English = Very Easy! 30+
Math = err....25? That's if I'm lucky, LOL. And yeah, that IS pretty sad.
One of the hardest, and really random. Really got tripped up with the harder questions in the front, it kind of got me really nervous for what the 'actual' hard questions would be like!
Reading = Easy, but I zoned out so probably 27
Science = B.O.M.B.E.D. I don't even want to know....

Sigh.

Here's to tons of SAT/ACT studying for the last tests before ED.

English: Supremely easy, as usual. There was a misprint in my book though... on the section about the time capsule jelly jars, it said something to the effect of "I guess I changed " on the last sentence of the first page and there was nothing underlined, but the last question about the page was a question about the syntax of the word "a lot." Would have finished with another half an hour remaining if I hadn't forgotten to bubble two answers at the beginning and had to go back and rebubble all the way up to 52. 34-35

Mathematics: Not as difficult as it was time consuming. First time I've ever not finished. I wasted a ton of time on some coordinates problems and then had to guess on the logarithm problem, a precalc problem, the hexagon problem, and few others when the time ran out. Hope there's a good curve. 31-34

Reading: Awesome. Loved the passages as well. 34-35

Science: After a re-evaluated strategy, went in there with a ton of confidence. Not as hard as the June Science test, but definitely not the easiest one I've ever taken. No time to check any answers. 32-35

wait what was the question?

was it "a lot" or "alot"... cause its pretty much the same thing.

I'm just hoping for at least a 30...

English was easy, Math was harder but I think I did well on it, really well if there's a nice curve. Reading was fairly easy, and science I wasn't able to finish it, but it was managable.

yeah i agree patrick....no one cares about the dif between a lot and alot in the real world. also can u ppl plz explain the curves and how they are decided, what they are, etc?

My predictions:
English: 32 (+2 from last time)
Math: 30 (-4, had a bladder problem during that one)
Reading: 32 (+6, incredibly easy, I couldn't believe how well I did)
Science: 28 (+2)

Oh, did anyone Sparta that essay?

"The most infamous example of a solution to student tardiness can be found in Sparta, 500 BC. Here, the Spartans utilized an approach to tardiness and absences in which "numbers count for nothing," and a absences or tardies of any number a dealt with by a sharp kick to the chest into a bottomless pit."

it was a lot, allot and alot aren't real words (at least used that way)

I put a lot too

English: Easy, not sure about 2 of em (34)
Math: Again easy (36)
Reading: SOOO much better than June, not sure about 4 (33)
Science: I loved the torque passage! (35)
