I have a difficult choice to make, and I would appreciate it if I could get you honest response.

I have been accepted to SUNY Stony Brook and have received some money.
I have been accepted to Boston University's College of Arts and Science.

I want to become a physician.
Ignoring the financial differences....at what school would I be most successful in, meaning most successful grade wise & good prep for MCATs etc.
Is it easier to get an A at one school over the other.
Both schools are a good fit for me.

Does going to BU over Stony Brook or vice versa have an impact on med school admissions.

If you were in my shoes where would you go? This is an important question on my future.
I would appreciate it if you could give me your feedback.

1) you have to wait more than 7 minutes for a reply. This is not a chat room. People are not on here constantly. The fact that you've posted 4 times in your own thread within a half hour makes me not want to post. There is such a thing as website etiquette.

2)Yep, not going to post anything now...I'll post an answer on this thread at sometime in the future. Maybe later tonight after the bars, maybe two days from now.

Take SUNY Stonybrook. It's a very good school for premed. Since you are getting some money. Save what you can for your med school.

Although BU is a good school for premed too, when you calculate total costs/year, you will likely spend 3 years worth Stony's total in 1 year at BU.

Stony is not an easy school and has a pretty good reputation.
Congrats on acceptance at Stony!

By the way, Mootmom is correct. BU is notorious for grade deflation.
I have heard from CC'ers that BU tends to deflate grades because they are constantly trying to catch up with their neighbors across the Charles river.

You could also check archives on BU. Search for Lergnorm. He is well versed with BU.

I don't care if I get or don't get info from "Bigredmed". If you want to post something make sure its helpful otherwise my time is being wasted reading it.

And our time is totally wasted posting advice for someone who:

has a bad attitude

has no patience

is unwilling to do his/her own homework

asks a stupid question to boot.

Frankly, if you really care about your future, I'd start with your attitude.

Seeing as how you're the one asking for advice, you damn sure have a lot of nerve insulting the people that can give it to you. Start by showing some respect.

Ouch, I'd say your new 'Serious Dilemma' is how to make amends with Bigredmed (an unofficial guru around here, in case you're too new to know).

Probably lying...but even if he's not, he won't last long with that attitude!

Best of luck learning without doing your homework and while demanding of your mentors without building relationships first!
I'd sure hate to be on a medical staff with you! You realize physicians have to cooperate with their staff members right? You can't just demand things of others and expect people to help you, whether in an online forum or real life.
