Serious problem about transfer

I am currently a CC student and who got admitted by UCSB, pre-pol sc major this year. Instead, I only have 50units after this spring semester. I suppose(which I filled in the plan on the application) to get 14 units in this semester but I fail to do so.I only got 7 units. I believe I am in serious trouble right... Assuming I can get 6 more units in summer, there is only 56 transferable units... Anyone have or heard of the similar condition??? I am really frustrated.

@jameswong get ready to apply next year

What ieatsharks said

Really? there is no alternative?

^^Nope. They are extremely strict on 60 units by end of spring 2013. Call them

I am going to their admission office on Friday…OMG…It is worse than getting regected.

@ieatsharks - That’s not very nice. :confused:

Hey,
I am also in the same situation as you, except I got into UC Davis. I’m lacking 7 units, but the admissions lady (who was very kind and helpful), said if I could add 2 more units, then they’ll most likely let me keep my acceptance. So in a way, I guess I’m just missing 1 class.
So don’t lose your hopes up, be persistent.
What I think is the best plan of action is to let the UCSB admissions people know as soon as possible. Call them tomorrow ya? Remember to call them before 4 PM bc they don’t take calls after that. They’ll give you their best piece of advice, so definitely follow with what they say. I’ve heard many stories where they rescind but also many other stories where the admissions people are lenient. Hopefully your major isn’t impacted either, cause that would be to your advantage. Maybe they will let you take summer classes, especially if you fulfilled most of your requirements. I hope they let you keep your acceptance. Good luck :).

@salyalyaly i don’t think ieatsharks was being mean. he said it in a matter of fact way. generally uc’s will automatically rescind you if you don’t make the 60 units.

@salyalyaly truth isn’t nice lol ~ lemme know if u become an exception, it will be a story to spread!
@jameswong they are very serious about the 60 unit cap. if u dont trust me, ask admissions
For both of guys, best course of action is to contact them asap. Get classes ready for summer. GL!

ucsb isn’t going to let you take summer classes to fulfill 60 units. sorry to hear

I transferred to UCSB last year from CC and I wanted to drop a class because I was scared I wasn’t going to get the grade I needed, the admissions counselor told me if I didn’t complete the class (which would put me at exactly 60 units) then there was no doubt it would be rescinded. Needless to say, i stuck it out and made the grades i meeded to.
There are hundreds of students who received rejection letters yet managed to get their units under control, hence why UCSB isn’t very lenient with this. You have absolutely nothing to lose by calling though.

thank you so much for all your advice! How stupid I am, putting myself into this kind of trouble… I’ll try my best to do what I need to do now!! God bless…
