I am in CSE , Computer Science at UMN-TC .
So I got a 80% in class 11th. Now the CBSE has cancelled my last board which was Comp Sci and I was bound to get a 95+ on it, which would make my average around 80-83% , but now they will put average makes on Comp Sci final, now my percentage would be 71-78% .
So would a 71-78% get me rescinded?? It’s still a B.
Because of the coronavirus pandemic this is a very unusual year. Universities will be seeing a lot of cases of students who have had their final exams cancelled. The most obvious reaction is that this is not your fault and was entirely outside of your control.
I would ask the university. However, I would not be too concerned. Be sure to remain calm and respectful whenever you are dealing with the university. I think that it is okay to say “I am concerned because the CBSE has cancelled my last board, which was in my strongest subject (computer science)”. However, for any email or any communication that you have with the school you want to behave like a calm and respectful adult (who by implication they would want to have at their school).
You won’t get rescinded for a B during a pandemic. By the way, universities are worried that their international students may change their minds about attending and they really want you to enroll.
Yes I did email them , they said :thank you for your email and the information about your marks. Please don’t worry too much about this! We understand that the situation is challenging for our students this year, and are correspondingly using our judgement to grant leeway on grades. I don’t feel that one lower grades (which isn’t that low) will affect your admission.
Now I am not sure if this really means its fine or what? I got a 80% in grade 11 and 90% in grade 12 midterms which were internals . but getting a 75% in grade 12 finals is a bit shocking for me. I hope they wont.
Its not one B. Its a B overall. I am getting 1 A, 3 B’s and 1 C, out of all the 5 subjects I have making it a 75% on overall (avg) whihc is also a B .
They still want you to come, trust me.
Ohh okay thank you! I mean yea its still that we are in a pandemic so hopefully yes . Thank you.
