<p>It doesn’t matter what the topic is as long as you can get yourself across to admissions officers as a unique individual. It all comes down to HOW you convey your idea. So I’d say go for it.</p>
<p>It is potent, but is extremely dependent on the context of the essay prompt and how you use it. If your usage is to represent overcoming the struggles that resolved, and how that says a lot about your own strengths to overcome some vulnerability, then it can be very powerful.</p>
<p>My only statement is, if you feel safe telling the internet you were molested, I guess it’s ok to tell one person said story in an essay, as long as it’s not a pity essay. I feel really mean saying that ;x.</p>
