Serious question!

Is it okay to wrote about the effects of you being molested as child in a college admissions essay?

How it affected your relationships with other people in the after math?

Or would this be a bad idea & perhaps turn off the admission people?

I don’t think I would do it.

It doesn’t matter what the topic is as long as you can get yourself across to admissions officers as a unique individual. It all comes down to HOW you convey your idea. So I’d say go for it.

That seems a bit heavy to me for a college admissions essay, so I probably wouldn’t do it.

i’m sorry you got molested. that must be awful.

It is potent, but is extremely dependent on the context of the essay prompt and how you use it. If your usage is to represent overcoming the struggles that resolved, and how that says a lot about your own strengths to overcome some vulnerability, then it can be very powerful.

My only statement is, if you feel safe telling the internet you were molested, I guess it’s ok to tell one person said story in an essay, as long as it’s not a pity essay. I feel really mean saying that ;x.

no… is this a joke?

No, its too personal. They will think you are very wierd . Don’t write your essay about it.

I’d be really careful with this topic
