Serious questions. No belittling U-M

Which means that all those schools are filled with idiots and airheads, right? ;)

What's wrong with smoking pot? It's not that bad and should totally be legalized. It's less addictive than any other drug; it's addictiveness is on par with caffiene. It does't kill that many brain cells. I pretty much have been smoking every day now. The other day, we went to a Quiz Bowl competition totally blazed and won.

Pot is evil and makes you a tool of the Devil. Or something. Yeah... :p

Yep, Ann Arbor is a festering sinkhole of depravity. Of course, we know that the rampant disregard for law and morality that characterizes U-M can be remedied by higher US News rankings, as evidenced by the OP's omissions of Columbia, MIT, Berkeley, Brown and Wesleyan. :-P

If people around you smoking weed does not bother you, it speaks volumes about the person that you are. I don't know what the world has come to. Marijuana is an illegal substance and is detrimental to health. Personally, i'd rather be surrounded by dumb people who don't smoke weed.

Do you drink? If so, then you're just mad that you're around people who are doing something that is illegal in many places. Not posters, but science has shown how much worse high alcohol consumption is for your health than smoking weed. I personally feel as if this so-called "war on drugs" started by conservatives who distort science for political gain might have been far more successful if they had actually stuck to the science and told people that marijuana is far less harmful than alcohol. We probably wouldn't have seen the rise of such homemade drugs as crystal meth or crack to this extent. Those are undoubtedly a far greater scourge on society than weed.

Thank you.

I personally don't smoke anything...nor do I drink alcohol. However NYoa, you will be hard pressed to find any top university on this Earth where the majority of students didn't at least try a hand at an illegal substance of some sort.

So, during Prohibition, would you have said the same thing about alcohol just because of a law?

I totally agree with Michwoman's views. The worst health effects that come with smoking weed is hurting your lungs when you smoke it with tobacco. It is very much a harmless substance.
Oh, and BTW, do people in the Honors program smoke/drink a lot? Or are they a lot more strait laced?
