Hi guys. I am a desperate Chinese with really low standardized test scores: SAT 1: 1750; SAT 2---Math 1: 700, Math 2: 700; TOEFL 75. (Plus I need full financial aid.) Do you know anyone with the same stats getting into Brown and other Ivies (I am also applying to Harvard, Yale, Penn Wharton, Cornell, Brown.)

My essays are really unique---I worked hard on them.

…probably not.
Chinese as in asian american or international? if international, your request for financial aid will…no offence, further lower your already barely-existent chances.
and tbh most asians applying to schools of this caliber have sat math scores near 800…

Or…Probably Yes. You see Mr/Miss Please that SATs aren’t everything in a college admission, although I have heard that Stanford evaluates you mostly with your Stats…but you don’t know what is in store for you.
Search for some safeties.

its difficult, and with fa its even more. There is nothing distinct in ur stats. Otherwise i applied to stanford with 1990 sat score but 800 in math with no fa. I know that my chances are extremely low, but i applied bcoz i thought maybe they will give a little relief for english as math is good. but on ur app there is nothing outstanding. But then also who knows who gets in.

your stats seem a bit synthetical:1750,75,700,700.
But in general your chances aren’t 0. If you have great essay, who knows, they can accept you.

well here is an advice: since you are aiming for stanford, why not others like dartmouth/williams/amherst or even the like of pton/mit? the difficulty of getting in is about the same but those schools are much more willing to give aid to int’l?

Well, I’m also a Chinese with sat I 2250(cr680, ma800, wr770), sat II 2290(750,770,770), and toefl 113, but still not bold enough to apply for FA… LOL, you need a really killer essay

My counselor said that a Stanford admission officer called her yesterday to ask for some information about me and their discussion lasted half an hour. Is this the same for every other applicant?
