Seriously considering tranfer, need advices

Hi,everyone.
I am currently a sophomore at Drexel studying Computer engineering.
Due to the COOP problem, I have to seriously consider transferring to a better engineering school. What I am considering now is Cornell and CMU or (Upenn, because it is so close to where I am living now).
Here is my stats:
HS GPA:84/100 (In China)
College GPA:3.96.
Experience:
I have been a TA in CS121/122 since September 2009 (an introductory computer programming class for engineers).
Research assistant in Soft matter group and performed an independent research during the summer as a STAR Scholar (something similar to REU).
Volunteer to do physics demonstration to middle school students for half a year.

What is the chance getting in the school I have mentioned above?

Thank you all.

why do you need to leave because of the co-op program?

nice college GPA

If you are concerned about COOP affecting your OPT as a student with an F1 visa, you should talk to the international students office at Drexel and find out how other students have dealt with this situation.

Good luck!

Thanks for you replys.
Well, I kind of concerned about the consequences when I failed to find a COOP. I am currently enroll in the five year program. And the tuition is lower every year, the COOP salary can help offset the tuition. But if I cannot get any job, Drexel will just encourage me keep looking for jobs till I find it. This basically means that i will not be able to take class during the COOP cycle( that is half a year!) unless I change my program to the four year one. But without COOP experience, it does not make any sense to stay in Drexel anymore. To be honest, I want to go somewhere with a better reputation and offers me more challenging curriculum.

I have another question. I was once majoring in Materials Engineering during my first year. And I worked really hard and got into a lab to be a research assistant. So most of my research experience is on the field of materials. But I recently changed to computer engineering in which I am lack of experiences. So, how much do you think that is gonna affect me?
Some more stat about me.
SAT:Math780,Verb580,Writing:610
IBT:99
I took these exams two years ago.

Thanks again.

Sorry for bumping it up. But really need some advices here. Time is kind of tight

There is some reason why you aren’t getting those COOP jobs. Go talk to the COOP office again and ask them to help you figure out why you’ve been rejected. Find out if the COOP office will help you do practice interviews. A little work on your interview skills might be all you need.

Lots of people change their majors from one kind of engineering to another. Don’t worry about this. Go ahead and apply for transfer, but please figure out what you can do to complete your degree at Drexel. You might not be admitted anywhere else, or you might find out that the other universities are too expensive for you.

Good luck!
