Shopgirl, I think you sound like a great candidate and I hope all your dreams come true. You have done all you can at this point, so take a break from the computer, enjoy your Senior year, and before you know it you will have a letter from Vanderbilt in your mailbox. I think you will be a wonderful addition to whatever school you attend and they will be fortunate to have you. Again, no one can tell, but I hope it's Vandy!!!!

Thanks sufinzla! Have fun with your senior year also!

Sorry, I just realized you weren't a senior.

yeah i applied directly to peabody.

I'm an asian applying to peabody but not until RD
Good luck!

No problem Shopgirl. I have a son who is a freshman at Vandy. Like you he fell in love with Vanderbilt and is very happy there. He was regular decision A&S. I wish you the best.

Thanks suzinfla. I'm sure you're son is doing very well.

For everyone else, can you guys tell me how much Vanderbilt evaluates Early Decision? Or what does it mean to them when an applicant decides to apply Early Decision? Would they overlook some factors for an ED applicant? For example, lets say in your sophomore year, you had a C, would they overlook that? I don't have a C, but I'm just asking. Or lets say you got a 90 in an AP class (which I actually did), but I got a 4 on the exam? Would they not dwell on a 90, because I applied ED? Basically, I'm asking, what does it mean to them if you apply Early, and do they cut you some slack on certain parts of the admissions process. I obviously understand you need good grades and test scores regardless, but I just would like to know.
