Hello, I am currently a High School Junior who is seeking to become candidate for the Service Academies, specifically West Point. I have a 3.76 weighted GPA, and a 4.76 GPA unweighted. I currently take all honors classes and two AP's. I plan on taking 4 Ap's next year for a strong schedule. I am taking calculus, physics, and ap us history. I have completed honors chemistry, biology, and 3 years of spanish. I got an 1890 sat, 1340 combined 720 CR, 620 Math, 550 Writing. I got a 31 ACT 30 math, 35 reading, 32 SR, 25 Eng. I got a 201 PSAT 69 Verbal 70 Math and 62 writing.I am ranked in the top 10% of the school. My school is very competitive in the Maryland area and we have turned out 58 service academy grads in 50 years. I have two varsity football letters, and was voted team captain this year. I have one varsity track letter. I have also played three sports at my school all year round for each of the three years. Class Vice President. NHS Member for two years. history Bowl member for one year. Leadership club member for three years. I think I have a fair chance at getting into the Boys State. I won my school science fair for a physics project in aerodynamics, I was selected as a scholarship winner for merit and leadership. I have been a volunteer coach for two years and have over 50 service hours to my name. I live in the 2nd district of Maryland, so I don't know how competitive it is for people who want to go to usma. I have applied for three academies so far and will apply to uscga when I can. I want to be a career military officer if that makes a difference. Any ideas on my chances would be very welcome. Thanks in adavance.
PS what do you think my chances are at getting selected for sle or other summer seminars.

your grades and scores are great and up to par for all the academies. Leadership looks very good with lots of variety of activities. You can pass the fitness test i assume, push ups, sit ups, pull ups, and running? Looks like your on the right track, the hard part may be getting a nomination from a congressmen, you don’t even need one for coast guard. I think that you will get into any summer seminar you want. Looks like you have it all figured out. I also want to go to a military academy, but i don’t think i have the grades for it, yet. Why don’t you check mine out <a href=“Chances of Admission - Air Force Academy - Colorado Springs - College Confidential Forums”>Chances of Admission - Air Force Academy - Colorado Springs - College Confidential Forums; Good Luck!!
