Service Academy Hopeful; Chance Me For My Choices.

Hey guys. I've just gotten around to creating an accoutn here because I really need some advice and evaluation of my chances at the Service Academies. I REALLY want to go to an Academy. I've always wanted to, probably since elementary school.

Pennsylvania Representative to The Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge; 10th grade, was chosen via AMVETS. FFVF is a very prestigious program in Valley Forge. One kid from each state went except for Cali, they had 15 or so. A very discussion+debate heavy program, focusing on the U.S State and Federal Government(s) and the U.S Constitution.

I have alot of service hours, including volunteering at York Hospital.

***I believe it is very important to note that upon entering my Junior year I had a 3.3/3.4 Unweighted GPA and a 3.7 Weighted GPA.

However, 2 weeks into the year after a football game, September 12th, I lost control of my car after it had rained and hit a boulder; my car flipped 6-7 times and I was smashed in between a wooden fence and my car. (Acura 2006 TL).

The subsequent injuries were severe and the physical damage alone kept me from playing any more sports in the 2011-2012 season. However, the WORST aspect was the mental trauma that I suffered. The police and fast-responders said it was the worst crash they'd ever seen, and somehow I walked away. I am truly thankful. (On a side note, September 12th was the birthday of a fellow teammate who died the previous summer in a car crash).

The concussion I suffered, as well as missing 2 weeks of school, made returning incredibly difficult. Trips upon trips to the Neurologist later, we figured out just how bad my concussion was. In a nutshell, nearly every aspect of my cognitive functioning was severely hampered. Trying to take Physics Honors, AP U.S History, and Trig with a severe level 6 concussion was probably not a good idea.

I tested out with a 154 IQ, but my memory, reflex and reasoning Quotients were all <105, showing the severe extent of my mental limitations.

The school administration did their best to try to help me out, but ultimately I hate to work my ass off my Junior year to pull B's. It was incredibly frustration and depressing when you would study for ages for a Trig test, and then go completely mindf**ked when the time came to perform. Thus, my GPA dropped significantly.

However, my transcipt includes an official letter from my guidance counselor stating everything I just told you.

Also, I believe it is very noteworthy to mention that my longtime friend was murdered in October, right after homecoming, by his father. You could imagine the emotional toll this took on me, as well as everyone close to him.

I am medically cleared as of now, physically and mentally, for athletics. the DoDMERB Physical should not be a problem.

If you read all of that, thank you ^^

I believe it is necessary to make sure those circumstances were known. I hate making excuses, and if you think they aren't a valid reason to underperform, that's fine. But I know that last year was, by far, an incredibly challenging year.

I am looking to go to the Naval Academy, West Point, or Air Force, in that order.

My applications are 90% done, and I am receiving a Presidential Nomination to all 3. Hopefully, I will be receiving a MOC Nom to at least one. Transcripts still need to be sent, and I am taking the SAT's in October. Working my ass off for a 2250+, pretty much want a 750+ on each part.

USNA: 1st
WEST POINT: 2nd
USAFA:3rd

NROTC:4th
Army ROTC: 5th

(I will take a scholarship to ANY school!)

University of South Carolina: 6th
Penn State University Park: 7th
Virginia Tech: 8th
Pitt: 9th

(I will be enrolling as an NROTC Cadet if I do not receive a Service Academy offer or an ROTC Scholarship.)

I also would like to note that the USNA is my ULTIMATE goal, I will continue to apply until I get in.

Chance me!

Bump. Anybody!!
