I am currently a cadet at the US Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. I'm a sophomore and am having second thoughts about signing up for committment at the beginning of my junior year. I am looking into transfering to a civillian school for the remainder of my college education. The only problem is that this decision is late in coming. I've already missed the majority of transfer deadlines for many schools. I have about a 3.7 cum GPA and I am an economics and foreign area studies major. I am looking for schools that have economics and international studies majors (or something of a similar nature). I was wondering if anyone had suggestions concerning where i could look, who might be flexible with later admissions, and what types of schools accept spring transfers. Thanks for your help.

Northwestern accepts Winter, Spring applicants for transfer admission. The deadlines are November 1, and February 1 respectively. I don't know of other schools that accept mid-year applicants but I'm sure there are many out there. Cornell, I believe, accepts applicants for Spring semester. Wherever you apply, good luck to you.

cornell definetly accepts transfers for spring semester with a fall deadline.

also, there are a decent # of tier 1 and 2 schools whose deadlines for transfers have not passed. a number of those will pass, however, by may 15, so youll need to pick a few quick if u want a shot for the fall.

otherwise, there probably wouldnt be a problem with taking a year off if you had to, as long as you did something productive, if you want to go to a first class school. good luck!

Emory is excepting FALL transfers until June 1st!
