I'm packing to move up to Cal but I'm wondering if somethings will not be neccessary. For example will I need a hair dryer, microwave, printer, etc.? What are some things that the school provides that I won't need to pack?
Thanks.

dont bring the printer. campus printing is way cheaper and you dont have to deal with buying cartridges etc.

microwave can be handy but check with your roomie to make sure you dont bring another one unnecessarily.

minifridge is nice if you are in a tiny ass triple and think you might get hungry but but be too lazy/lack time to go to the DC a certain day

I was in a triple and we didn’t have problems fitting a printer and minifridge. The thing with campus printing is that it’s not all that convenient to get to, and the reshall computer centers are closed for large periods of time.

Shameless repost of a list I’d made earlier.

I personally have found a personal printer to be entirely worth it, especially because I’ve taken a lot of classes in which professors recommend that you print out slides and take notes on them. If you’re a big procrastinator, it would definitely be a must. The Academic Services Center is not open 24/7, so you really need to plan ahead when it comes to printing things (especially on a daily/weekly basis).

If you really need a hair dryer, bring it, but if you shower in the mornings or at weird hours at night, take it to the bathroom lest your roommates hate you forever and ever.

Does anybody know how the bathrooms at Beverly Cleary hall in unit 3 are? Do they have lockers like other bathrooms?

Bring big ass speakers and knock it loud and hard for the rest of your floor! :)
