can this be considered a non-academic honor?

what is SET?

[SET Awards :: Index](setawards.org)

Seems pretty academic to me, but you might be able to spin otherwise…

“Part-time students, and foundation course students, may not be entered.”

Clearly an academic honor … if you list it as a non-academic honor it will be read by the Admissions Committee as an academic honor.

By the way, SET is not a common acronymn so when you list it in your application you should provide a description.

Oh I was thinking of something else being a non-academic honor (community student of the month), I spliced two questions together, my mistake. I was going to ask where the SET award can be mentioned on the app seeing as how I won it at the end of 8th grade and the common app says to only list awards won since 9th grade.

Oh and sorry for the confusion, SET = Study of Exceptional Talent done by CTY.

Since the award is from prior to 9th grade you should not list it. We are not concerned with honors and achievements prior to 9th grade unless they are truly unusual and unique.

If you really want to list it, then put it in the additional information section.
