i started school during the second semester instead of in the fall like everyone else due to a bit of a personal crisis.......and all things being equal, i would have then graduated in Dec 06 instead of May 06....so only a semester late. However, I also spent a year abroad and still have some reqs to take care of so I will go ahead and finish school in May 07 instead.

The only downside is maybe having a bit of an awkward "schedule" as far as graduating, but many people don't graduate when they expect to anyway so its no big deal.

If you really want to, you could just take courses in the summer so that when you then begin in the fall, you'd still have a year's worth of material.....

Besides the graduation schedule, your biggest setback would be social. You'd basically be moving into a place alone where everybody else had started bonding first semester when they went through the whole initial moving into the dorms and freshman orientation thing together.

I don't see any problems with it...

I agree with fishbowl... But if you take some classes at a local college during the summer that should be no problem...

As for the social aspect it is really what you make it out to be. Sure there will be some tight bonding already but if you are assertive enough the kids on your hall will most definately be welcoming you with open arms...
