Hi everyone! Just curious if there were any offers for your kids for summer stock/internships from SETC? This was the first year my D went and I thought it would be interesting to hear if any other parents had students attend and if they had great experiences there. My D enjoyed it a lot and had a couple call backs and one “maybe” opportunity for summer which isn’t in concrete yet.
I replied to this but on the acting thread.
Some nice offers coming in for my D and her peers – it’s exciting to hear all the news. I think the offers are mostly from SETC auditions, but some are from UPTA and MWTA – The Prizery, Florida Studio, Playhouse on the Square, Hawks Cay, Pentangle Arts, Crane River, Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire, Hersheypark, First Stage, Unto These Hills, Bright Star, Camille, McLeod Summer Playhouse. Those are offers that I know about. Some students are still filming callbacks. And offers are still coming in – 2 of her friends got offers this morning.
@janne006 , Thats great! Congratulations! Our D is a freshman so first experience at all this and it was a lot of fun! Learning all the ins and outs of this!
@CMB625 My D is a senior, so I think her group had more offers than usual this year because more students were available for year-round contracts. My D has been to SETC three times – and her experience every year has been different. Particularly memorable was the year she was sick and had no voice! But these kids are tough – they just push on! I’ve watched my D and her friends over the last 4 years – and there are many highs and lows. This forum has been a wealth of information and support!
@janne006 , they are tough. And this forum is awesome for info and for parents to have people to give advice and support! Hope your daughter has a great summer and a successful future!
Congrats to all who have received summer offers! My only advice would be to carefully research your options. Not all summer positions are equal and some are far better than others.
Love hearing about all the summer gigs being lined up! My D is finalizing her contract for summer work (not from SETC though) and is happy with her plans. Absolutely agree with @alwaysamom - research and talk to people if you have choices to make. Not all experiences at the same!
