Setting, Atmosphere, Dorms, Falcuty

Hi guys, i'm an international student living in the US for 4 months, i'm gonna transfer to Texas A&M for Computer Science but i'm wondering about the school atmosphere. i heard that in Texas A&M there's not many green space, grass, it's boiling there. i really love School with lots of shade, trees, fresh air. Do u guys think Texas A&M is suitable for me ? How about the Dorms, friendliness toward Asian, i'm Vietnamese.
Have u ever been to Ohio State University? Is it better than Texas A&M?
Tks a lot for advises

I can’t imagine anyone at Texas A&M being unfriendly towards asians. We are all Aggies.

I know one of my friends is a big part of some asian club and they do a lot of events and activities together.

Texas is hot, no way around it. Northeast corner of campus is concrete.

Check out all A&M’s concrete via Google Maps :p

Usually the older the dorm, the worse it’ll be (I live off-campus to have my own kitchen and because the free buses allow me to not need an on-campus parking permit, which have run out).

Since there are SO many students at A&M, how you get treated will depend on the people you meet.

I’ve noticed that naturally nice people treat me nicely and naturally rude people treat me rudely… I’m Vietnamese American.

There may be people who haven’t interacted with Asians much, so they’ll have their own assumptions about Asians, just like you may have of people of other ethnicities.

tks guys a lot, i have no problem in making friend :)) i have lots of white friends and a girlfriend in Iowa so i love to make friend with people , i was just worrying because i heard my girlfriend said about conservative of Texas student.

“Conservatives” are nice people too, you know. :)

Both schools you mentioned are good, just very different. Texas is HOT. On the plus side in the July & August heat you can eat breakfast outdoors, you can literally fry your egg on your neighbors car (I wouldn’t recommend you do this on your own as it’s a pain to clean up).
On a serious note, from the Aggies I’ve met TAMU is a VERY friendly place, I think you’d fit right in. You should try to set up a campus visit & decide firsthand if you think it’s for you.
