Setting my sights too high?

Sorry I posted in the wrong forum...

I am currently applying to quite a few schools but I keep getting worried I might get rejected by all of them.

2.89 GPA unweighted (MAJOR fall in junior year)
3.57 GPA weighted
1980 SAT (690 Math, 630 Reading, 660 Writing)
October ACT - (Predicting 29 - 33)
9 APs (NSL, Macro, Micro, Lang, World, Lit, Human Geo, Calc AB, Env. Science)
High rated public school (#1 in MD)
Global Ecology Magnet Program
100+ Service Hours
Golf Team
Ski Club
Grill Masters Club
It's Academic Club
Good Teacher Recs (10/10 Counselor, 7/10 Chem, 9/10 Micro/Macro)

Intended Major: Business Administration or Economics (Business Related)

I'm applying to the following so far....

Maryland College Park - EA
U of Rutgers New Brunswick - EA
James Madison - EA
Elon
Penn St.
Pittsburgh
U Penn ( HUGE reach)
St. Mary's College of Maryland
Duke

I will be taking the SAT again this November and most likely the ACT in December.

What else do I need? How can I improve my chances? Am I applying to too many reach schools? Any schools I should look into?

Didn’t you already post this query. I agreed with others on the thread that Duke and Penn applications will merely serve as donations to colleges that really don’t need the money - they’d be reaches if you had an unweighted 3.89, and 2280 SAT score. They are well beyond reach for you, as it is. Adding a fresh thread does not alter the scenario.

At the time I posted this second thread I thought I had posted my initial thread in the wrong spot. My mistake

Try attending a community college for a couple hours and see how you do there. If you do very well, you may be able to transfer into one of these schools. None of these schools are realistic options for you. Don’t really know what you expected as an answer. I have a 3.44 UW and 32 ACT and most of these schools are reaches for me as well, so don’t feel too bad about it. Good luck.

I think you have at least an outside chance at the colleges on your list other than Duke and Penn. You are obviously 4-year college material, so ignore anyone telling you to go to a CC, but try to add one or two true safeties.

Maryland College Park - EA: Reach
U of Rutgers New Brunswick - EA SAS/SEBS/MG: High match
Rutgers business/engineering/nursing: Reach
Rutgers 0-6 PharmD: Unreachable
James Madison - EA: High match
Elon: Match/High match
Penn St.: Reach
Pittsburgh: Reach (Penn State and Pittsburgh are ~2/3 about GPA)
U Penn: Unreachable
St. Mary’s College of Maryland: Low match/Match
Duke: Unreachable

Can you stomach Mizzou? There lies your safety…
