does anyone know how to set up the cornell email on the iphone 4? do you select gmail account or other account under settings->mail?

Just did it now - good idea!
iPhone/iTouch How To:
Settings–> Mail, Contacts, Calendar –>Add Account…–>GMail
Enter your Name, the e-mail address (which will be @cornell.edu), the password, and description (Cornell E-Mail or whatever you want).

Press “Next” at the top right and just wait for it to finish!

Hmm… E-mailing the address doesn’t seem to work for some reason…
This meaning that when I emailed my Cornell@edu.com email, I didn’t get the mail…
Anyone know why?

Because it should be netid@cornell.edu?

@cornell.edu implies that something goes before the @cornell.edu
For example: eor67@cornell.edu

That was primarily in response to this: Cornell@edu.com.

That being said, it sounds as if you’ve set it up correctly, not really sure why it’s not working with gmail.

I’ve never been able to get cmail to work that way.
I think that the mobile version of cmail (as it appears in safari) is excellent, though. I usually just always keep that as the first open page of safari, so it’s really quick to check.

Add Account -> Gmail
Fill in Name, Address (netID@cornell.edu), and the password you used for your cmail account. Then verify!
Sync everything and save.

I just did this & everything went smoothly.
Note: Make sure you’ve enabled IMAP in your main Gmail settings

By that I meant - eor67@edu.com/email.

Trying again fri3nds04.

Supervisor, your email address should have been eor67@cornell.edu instead of eor67@edu.com if we are talking about Cmail account.
