<p>The Ivies and Stanford are reaches for just about anyone. Even the top students aren’t shoo-ins for these schools. How did the OP “blindly apply… for no reason”, exactly? There’s always a reason to apply to one of the very best colleges, no matter whether you intend to major in math, history or CS.</p>
