Seven Sisters

I'm going to an all-girls school next year, and I'm really happy with it. That said, how do I meet boys? Because honestly, I'm boy crazy.

Why would anyone ever do this? I cant imagine myself going to an All-boy school...That defeats one of the purposes of going to college, that is to meets lots of people from the opposite sex and have LOTS OF SEX.

Note I said one of the purposes.

yea that's somewhat of a paradox...

BTW, they are not "girl's schools" they are "women's colleges".

That was drilled into my head by my Smithie wife :)

Go to a bar and show a random guy a good time and then cry about it the next morning with a girl friend... and do it again the next night.

You're all the same.

Sarah, I guess tat most all girls colleges have nearby Coed schools where u can meet guys.

Yeah, bring a bus-load of your hoes to a coed college and entertain the guys. What a way to establish something long-term! You won't get a guy's respect if you just hook up with him.

When I was looking at Sweet Briar College, the admissions people made sure to emphasize that there were other schools in the area with whom they arrange activities, etc. I think its great that you know that you want to go to a women's college. It's not for everyone, but many women thrive at these schools and go on to do great things. Good luck!

lmao! Yeah, I'm sure they would take offense to that.

OP: Which seven sisters college are you going to?

all-grils schools remind me of of the novel Villette by bronte where a lonely englishwoman travels to some fictional country in europe to teach at a all-girls school and falls in some sort of a pensive, meditative, metaphysical, fantastical love with a doctor. pretty dynamic book mainly because bronte was too much obsessed with fantasy to the point of using french at random in the book. trop de femmes partout! donnez-moi des beaux hommes!!! haha.

so i suppose there are some male faculty in a all-girls school. i like the idea of all-boys school much better. it reminds me of all those stories dalh wrote: mischief and freedom from pathetic self-consciousness in midst of girls!!

wasn't women in ancient times educated separately? men were taught rhetoric and politics and gymnastics (as plato calls it) while women were taught i don't know, something.

In the case of Wellesley College, there is easy transportation to Harvard/MIT. I hear it is a popular means for meeting members of the opposite sex; so much so, in fact, that the transportation is also known as the "f*** truck."

This could be an unsubstantiated rumor;)

"wasn't women in ancient times educated separately? men were taught rhetoric and politics and gymnastics (as plato calls it) while women were taught i don't know, something."

That right there is a priceless quotation.

OP: Of the five remaining Seven Sisters colleges (Vassar went co-ed and Radcliffe is now part of Harvard),
Barnard: It's in the middle of freaking New York City. You should have no trouble in the socialization department.
Wellesley: Harvard/MIT/the rest of Boston is pretty accessible. Again, shouldn't be a problem.
Smith, Mount Holyoke: part of the Five College Consortium with three co-ed schools including the ENORMOUS UMass Amherst.
Bryn Mawr: Very close to Haverford, Philadelphia is also accessible to some extent.

You only have to worry if the school is in a rural area or if there are no other colleges nearby.

Bryn Mawr is very close to Penn and Drexel.

Bryn Mawr is just south of Villanova and Swarthmore is south of Haverford which is a short bus ride south of BMC.

just out of curiosity sarahelizabeth, why did you want to go to an all-female school if you're "boy crazy"?

"wasn't women in ancient times educated separately? men were taught rhetoric and politics and gymnastics (as plato calls it) while women were taught i don't know, something."

LOL

Ooooh I'm a guy who wants to go to an all girl school! How can I enroll?

^^^^^^

I'm sure vaginoplasty is painless.

Well you could go to Sarah Lawrence College, 75% female lol.

From my experience being in a girls college, you dont get a chance to meet up with guys very often, but it all depends on location ofcourse.

HAHA. this is funny. charizard, one way to go to a all-girls school is by becoming a teacher, i think, as i mentioned Villette earlier. i bet all the girls are so sick of each other that they will love a male presence. they will adore the man as if they were looking up to the virgin mary in a church.

they will worship masculinity, the male beauty that of which the italian masters were so obsessed with. they will worship any effeminate male personage in history: alexander the great, darius III, ash ketchum, michael jackson, yugioh.
