Several questions I have about my chances.

Hello, sorry if this is in the wrong section, I just joined today to hopefully get some answers to my questions :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m currently going into 11th grade, I have an unweighted GPA of 3.95, have taken 3 honors courses, (no AP yet, plan to take several next year) and recently got my first attempt SAT scores back.

Reading - 730
Math - 590
Writing - 480 (6 on essay)
Combined All - 1800
Combined Math+Reading - 1320

Couple Questions/Concerns I had.

  1. I plan to take the SAT again in the fall, but will colleges care that my scores are uneven? There's a 250 points difference between reading and writing, and I'm worried that colleges might find this as a negative thing.
  2. I'm not interested in a prestigious ivy league school, but for the following schools how do my chances look as of now?

Penn State University Park - Villanova - Drexel - A respectable school that isn’t extremely hard to get into. (I plan to major in physical therapy)

  1. And lastly, as I said I'm going to take the SAT's at least once more, but what are your suggestions for raising my Writing score? I'm not too worried about Reading, I would like to raise Math another 60 points, but Writing is my main concern. I know for sure I can improve the essay score, I was somewhat caught off guard by it, so I know I'll do better my second go, but for the multiple choice questions is there anything I can do?

Thanks for any help :stuck_out_tongue:

If you can get that writing score into PSU’s mid-50% (and apply early), you should have a good shot there.
