First, Section QQ of Interpretation and Arguments (76-101) that I signed up for is labeled "TBA" on the time period. If it really is "to be announced," when will it be? And what do I do if it ends up interfering with the times on my already registered courses? Or, is it really "to be announced" at all? Does it mean it's on free time or online, or something?

Second, this is kind of a silly question, but at the end of the first day of freshman orientation, it looks like my family will have to fly back somewhat early. Do many freshmen end up eating alone for their "Dinner-on-your-own/Family Farewell" time?

im not really sure about the former but my parents are leaving early too, so you definitely wont be the only one! oh and theres international students who have an earlier orientation than us, and a lot of them are coming alone.

You will not be alone…1500+ freshman…many of whom arrive without parents.

You might even join your roommate with the same issue…

Take a look at the orientation schedule for Sunday-- there are some lunch opportunities too on Sunday (various groups host parent/student brunch including Asian group, newman Society, alumni group and Hillel)…there will be time for hugs and kisses…and you will not be the only student to get a bit teary -eyed (or not) too.

There are going to be a ton of people around during orientation. You can always eat with your new roommate, some random people on your dorm floor or grab an Orientation Counselor who I’m sure will be more than willing to grab a bite to eat.

If you want good, food coma-inducing, authentic Pittsburgh food, go to Primanti Bro’s. A lot of nice places to eat in Squirrel Hill (a lot of Asian ones) and in Oakland (UPitt).
