I was just wondering, how much sex and drinking is there at nd. I am very Christian and conservative and believe you should wait until marriage, but will going to nd help or hurt this cause.

Yeah, ND is catholic, but it’s college too. I can’t speak from experience because I don’t go there, but you probably will run into things like that eventually during your college experience. There’s probably less sex at ND than at other schools, however.

As far as drinking goes…that’s unavoidable. Almost anywhere you go. Although most ND students say that you can have fun without drinking and it’s completely fine not to drink, you’ll still have others around you wanting to drink, so just keep that in mind. ND allows weaker alcohols in the dorm rooms (basically, beer) - which is a surprising rule for a Catholic university, IMO. And I’m sure football weekends get a little crazy :)

Sex and drinking happen, but you will be able to find plenty of people who don’t do those things if that is important to you. I didn’t drink or have sex (similar to your beliefs) and I loved ND. Those things happened, I knew about it, but people respected my beliefs and I really didn’t have to deal with it all that much. I think that the other respondent is correct, you will get that at any college you choose, but ND is probably going to be a better fit for you than most other schools.
