just used the header to bring people to this post. rather than listing every concievable stat i have i am just going to give my gpa, sat, and class rank and a few other minor detials about myself. If you people could, could you please just put an accepted or rejected next to the colleges i choose. any other comments would be great too! thanks a bunch.

GPA: 4.5 (i'm an IB student)
Class Rank: 10/359
SAT: 2000 (math 710, crit. reading. 670, writing 620)
Extra curriculars: plenty. cool unique ones too. prez of 2 clubs. i volunteer too.
awards: just some chess trophies and a couple tennis trophies. principals honor roll.

Colleges I am going to apply to:
University of Pennsylvania (ED)
Cornell
Carnegie Mellon
UC Berkeley
CU Boulder
Northwestern
MIT (hahaha, i have no chance here)
Princeton
Swarthmore
Georgia Tech
BU

It's hard to determine chances without more info. Where are you from? What is your ethnicity? Is your school public or private, and if it is public, is it good, bad, or somewhere in between? What exactly are your ec's? Can you be recruited for tennis? Are you on varsity?

Anyway, just based on what is given...

UPenn - deferred, rejected
Cornell - rejected
Carnegie Mellon - i don't know
UCB - rejected
CU Boulder - accepted
Northwestern - rejected
MIT - rejected
Princeton - rejected
Swarthmore - rejected
Georgia Tech - accepted
BU - accepted

Was that harsh? Yeah, probably. I'm really tired and sort of in a bad mood. :) I guess I was going by your SAT score more than anything since i don't really know your ec's, and that score really needs to come up for a lot of these schools.

Not really, I was actually banking on getting into U Penn. The colleges I listed are all colleges that I really like, I didn't really think about any safeties other than Georgia Tech and CU Boulder (I'm from Colorado). Heres a little extra about me, I am East Indian (i was born here but parents from india). I attend a public school, and I play Varsity tennis (though i doubt i could be recruited unless its like div. 3 tennis lol). Thanks for the comments people. oh, one more quick question. do you think I should take the SAT again? would a score over 2100 significantly help my chances of getting admission to U Penn early?

do not bank, you are not anywhere near bankable level. your SATs are noooot in range and your tennis won't help. i think u might get rejected :0( bring up the SATs a looot!

no i havent taken any, i signed up for the ones in october though. then i plan to take the SAT in Nov. again and rush my scores to upenn for early decision. 2200+? god damn thats a lot, to be honest I havent met a single person thats scored that high. Oh and Greenday, here are some more stats about myself.

President of spanish club and science olympiad. I compose my own music (i've been playing the indian drums since i was 6). I have 200 hours of volunteer service at my local hospital. I am an NHS member, an AP Scholar (i thought this was pretty cool, especially since im in IB), and im a freelance writer for the school paper. My awards are limited to tennis, chess, and some other crappy stuff that nobody's heard of. I havent attended college classes at any college either (not even in summer :(

One more thing, THANKS A LOT YOU GUYS. your comments have been very beneficial to me, hope i can use them effectively to get into Upenn ;)

University of Pennsylvania (ED) - reach
Cornell - low reach
Carnegie Mellon - match
UC Berkeley - if california resident, low reach/high match
CU Boulder - low match, possibly safety
Northwestern - high match (raise the sat score for this though)
MIT - reach
Princeton - reach
Swarthmore - low reach
Georgia Tech - match
BU - match
