Can I take the BART from SFO directly to Rockridge? I can never find the bus back to unit 1 from downtown Berkeley so Rockridge is better since there's a bus to go straight back to unit 1!

Anyone done this before? I dont want to try then get lost :(!

It’s actually easier.

SFO->Berkeley = SFO -> ~50min of stations / tunnel -> timed transfer at MacArthur -> Ashby, Berkeley

SFO->Rockridge = SFO -> ~50min of stations / tunnel -> wait at MacArthur -> Rockridge is the next station

However, you really should learn the bus system.

Downtown Berkeley: 51B (towards Rockridge BART) and 49 clockwise get you to Unit 1
Rockridge: 51B (towards Downtown Berkeley BART) and 49 counter clockwise gets you to Unit 1, 49 clockwise also does the same but takes close to an hour

Or, you can just walk from Downtown Berkeley to Unit 1 – 20min, great exercise.

SFO -> Rockridge: Get on a Pittsburg / Bay Point train. Get off at Rockridge.

SFO -> Downtown Berkeley: Get on a Pittsburg / Bay Point train. At 19th Street in Oakland, get off and get on a Richmond train, which is usually across the platform for a timed transfer. Get off at Downtown Berkeley.

The bus from Downtown Berkeley to Unit 1 is the SAME bus that goes from Rockridge to Unit 1, just in opposite directions. In fact you walk less when you take the bus from downtown berkeley.

But yes, the BART ride itself is more convenient from SFO to Rockridge. Take Pittsburg/Bay Point (the yellow one).
