I have yet to pick a foreign language class, but hopefully my schedule will be:

SFS PROSEMINAR (Modern Empires in Asia) - Kim,
PHIL-099-02 POLITICAL & SOCIAL THOUGHT -Richardson
ECON-001-02 ECON PRINCIPLES MICRO Schwartz, -Mari
PHIL-192-02 EXISTENCE OF GOD/PROBLEM OF EVIL - Jopola

any comments/suggestions?
is 10 minutes long enough to get from one class to another?
my day starts around 10 am. is there anything else I should consider when choosing my schedule?
thanks.

10 minutes is usually long enough unless one of teh tow is in Walsh, then you'll be running. Schwartz is known for being very dificult and tricky, if I were you I would try levinson, he's hard but very straightforward. 10 AM is an awesome time to start, but don't you need another class? or maybe a language?

umm....how can you take phil 192?
i think you need to take PST first then take a bridge course.
i am not too sure you can take you intro and bridge course at the same time..
you should check that out

10 mts is ample time...if you have a class in walsh and then in icc or vice versa then a slight prob...but just explain to the prof that you MIGHT be occasionally late and it shouldnt be a prob. coz profs do notice students who come a bit late...and it looks very bad.
other than that...even 10 mts to get from icc to walsh is very manageable...without running

well, i wasn't really sure about the phil 192. on our SFS course selection/degree requirement sheet it says we should schedule one humanities/writing, history, or free elective. my ap credit should get me out of at least one humanities/writing and history elective each and i was hoping that instead of taking one of those classes, i could finish off my core philosophy requirement by taking phil 192. it says on our sheet that our second philosophy class should be a class from phil 001 to phil 199. i'm also planning on taking descalzo for SPAN 101. has anyone taken this class? is it difficult?
do you have any suggestions on which proseminars are good, or what profs are good?

also, would any of you recommend having most of your classes on the same day? or spreading the classes out throughout the week? for example, most of my classes are on mondays and wed. with one on thursday. if i wanted to take levinson, i'd have to take a class on tuesday. my classes are also pretty much continuous from 9am to around 5pm with a lunch break in between.

Check with your dean to amke sure you are getting the credit you think you are getting, you're prolly gonna need to take a history. Taking a lot of classes on the same day, can be very good or very bad, it depends how well you can plan your time, and make sure you don't treat a free day lieka weekend.

What about this schedule:
SFS PROSEMINAR-Stephen
Intensive 1st Level Arabic-Nydell
POlitical and Social Thought-Douglass
Micro-Yun
Advanced French I-Roman

Yun is god, he's pretty funny, that's what I hear. It looks good, except for the two languages, Adv. french and intensive arabic are like the hardest language classes, can you handle both? Maybe you can, I don't know. Just make sure you are willing to take up a really heavy course load, I mean we're talking a least 2 hours of hw a day for arabic.

can someone list all the sfs proseminar classes and profs and if possible short descriptions. im abroad and unable to find them on the web for this year

I took it 2nd semester, so I'm not sure. You should check the syllabus, and whoever has the one book, instead of many is who I hear is very good.

Take Hill, he's a Dean in teh SFS, and this class is truly AMAZING! Take it! You'll love it, Dean Hill ahd us over for dinner to his house, we had movie nights, it was awesome way to get to know someone at the top of the SFS foodchain :) UNITED IRELAND!!!
