SFS courses

<p>Hey, so I'm a first year student, and I'm making my schedule. I have AP credit for 1st Humanities and Writing, and then I have AP credit for first year history. So it says to take a choose another SFS core class. I don't know what to take. I'm thinking maybe Eastern European History I (won't I be with a lot of sophomores?) but I'm not sure. I don't want to kill myself my first semester. I guess I could take a second theology course. My other question is what is the difference between Introductory to Spanish I or II (Span 003 or 004) and Intensive Basic Spanish (Span 011) or Intensive Intermediate I Spanish (Span 021)? I haven't taken the online exam yet for Spanish placement, but how do I know if I'm taking intensive Spanish or not? Is that my decision? What's the better option? I've taken Spanish for 4 years in high school and am pretty good with conjugation/writing/grammar, but my oral/listening/comprehension skills are definitely lacking. Thanks.</p>

<p>About the Spanish placement - my peer advisor told me that the placement tests are just supposed to be "recommendations" as to which level to start at. So you can place yourself wherever you like, and then switch into a lower/higher course later if it's not working for you.</p>
