If you are studying at SFS, do you still have the opportunity to take some government, political science, and public policy classes with the department of government?

The SFS and the College are not at all mutually exclusive. In the SFS, you will take most of your major courses in the government and international affairs departments. Though there are some classes that are strictly for SFS kids, I haven't heard of any that are only for those in the College.

For my major (Reg. Comp Studies) I'll be taking Government, Sociology, and Anthropology courses among other things...we have quite a bit of access to all of the classes at Georgetown.

Also, for what it is worth, I am pretty sure you can't get a PhD from the SFS. Maybe someone else can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think International Relations PhDs are given from the Dept of Government..so it's all pretty integrated.

can you minor in the college (ex: i'd like to minor in the humanities department if possible), even if you're an SFS student?

that you cannot do- you can't straddle colleges, nor can you minor or double major in the sfs. the curriculum is simply too tight.. However, you can get a certificate in the sfs, and they have a variety of those.

really? i knew that you couldn't major across colleges, but i could have sworn during an open house someone said that you can minor in something in the college if youre in sfs...i guess thats not true?
