Sorry for the dramatic title but I posted this in another thread and no one's replied.
I'm starting to write my SFS essay, about basque separatism/eta (i hope that's not too cliche) but as I am writing it analytically, plus a few personal sentences about my homestay in spain, should I include citations?
Or should I talk about it in more general terms? Clearly I can't insert numbers into my essay without citations, but I mean, most of what I've learned about it is from newspapers, etc...
If you guys can tell me what you did (citations or no, how general was your discussion of the issue) I would appreciate it sooooo much! I have to write it tonight.

I used a statistic from the CIA factbook regarding Kazakh oil reserves, and didn't think twice about citing it, but now I'm thinking maybe I should. I don't think there is really a lot of room to go into detail, so I'm not sure you should put in too many numbers. My body paragraphs were about the course of action that should be taken, but I didn't necessarily support it by disarming a counter-opinion, and providing facts etc... To be honest, I think they're really looking more for the way you structure your paper (and consequently your argument) with logic, and not about writing the end all paper about your subject. Remember, it's only a page, they're not looking for an in-depth research paper.

alright thanks, so you were pretty general in your description, minus that one fact? i guess i'll do the same.

Yea, like I said, don't treat it as a research paper. This about your ability to phrase your sentences and write properly, not necessarily your knowledge of the Basque.

alright thanks for the advice.
