of the schools i've been admitted to, SFS and Amherst are my top 2. i think i'll major something along the lines of government and economics, but i'm not 100% sure about that either. that's part of the reason why i'm really considering Amherst, because there are so many other options available other than then the 2 i've mentioned.

Well, maybe you know this but just in case, you can't major in government or economics specifically in SFS, you can do International Politics or International Economics, but assuming that's what you meant, if you decided those weren't for you you could transfer to the college of arts and sciences which as I understand is not that hard from SFS (though I am not an admissions officer). Also if that is the line you are thinking of going into you can't beat DC for those majors. That said, Amherst and Georgetown are pretty different so think about whether you want a more isolated rural and smaller campus or a larger more urban campus in Georgetown. I would think the atmosphere at each school is pretty different.

suvayu, i have the exact same decision! those are my top 2 as well. im leaning towards georgetown, but i still have to visit both, are you going to the amherst open house?

jword, wow that's brilliant we can help eachother out then! i'm an international student in the Philippines, so i won't be able to. are yu thinking of the IE/IPE line (thanks sportula for clarifying that). i've asked a lot of ppl and many seem to say that amherst is better (something about it being comparable and as selective as harvard?). amherst has really gud government and econ program as well, so in that case, i'd take a dual major. the gud thing about SFS is that it's a small skl, and almost all the attention is towards SFS undergrads, but at the same time, SFS students can avail of privelages from the entire university. amherst has an excellent overal academic curriculum too. btw, do you knw hw the quality of life is at amherst?
