So where do you think I would have a better chance? Which do you think is a better fit? I'd really appreciate it if you'd help me out!

You’ll probably get into either SFS or MSB if that’s what your concerned about. MSB is “safer” but the class of 2015 was far more selective than in previous years. If you do IB/Finance, you’ll probably be an investment banker and make a lot of money and work yourself to death doing it. I don’t know what international economics majors do.

I am in exactly the same situation! I have decided to apply to SFS EA. When I emailed the admissions representative for my region, I was told that the acceptance rate for SFS was higher than that of the MSB. I think you have a great chance of getting accepted to either school. What would you rather attend if you had any preference at all?

The difference between applicants in MSB/SFS is so marginal its not worth noting. Likewise, this is the same as IEcon majors and IBusiness/Finance. I myself, am an IB/Finance major Econ minor. That said, it comes down to class preferences. Look at the core classes for each major and decide what is better for you.

I am a junior, but personally I think SFS would have worked. MSB will give you an edge with banking among other things. Though typically, IECON majors follow similar pursuits. I have a lot of room to take SFS classes, but I think I could have done without core classes like marketing, business law, etc and replaced them with classes specific to SFS.

In addition, the non-MSB accounting class is poor, you won’t get the financial tools drilled in as much, and your holistic view of business won’t be there. It’s a difficult decision at the end of the day. Though, my advise is to look at core curriculum and which classes you would rather take to get to point B.

thanks michaelungerrr for the great advice! i checked it out and at the moment i’m leaning more towards SFS, as the core classes seem more interesting to me, but i still have a month or so to decide!

and wow ChristophSS that’s awesome! thanks for the advice and good luck! :)
