bumpppppp s'il vous plait

Heh, I think someone last yr went to GU from Plano west.

Anywho, I know people who have done premed while in the SFS, but it is definitely harder to so since most SFS degree plans don't include maths/sci. You can also apply to NHS and later also take courses in SFS if that's what you'd like.

Yes, but my entire resume leans heavily toward foreign studies. Although I want to do medicine, I'm afraid that there's not much on my resume that will convince anybody on the admission council that I really want to be in NHS.

It's definitely possbile to do be pre-med in the SFS - especially if you major in STIA, which requires you to take some science courses. However, I would suggest applying to NHS as an International Health major - with this major you can be pre-med and as the program has an international focus.

the people that I know in SFS that are pre-med are generally STIA majors. If you're still interested in NHS, and you have an interest in international affairs, possibly related to health, apply for International Health. You'll take classes like Epidemiological Approaches to Population Health, Global Patterns of Disease, and Ecology of Global Hunger. You'll also get to take science courses such as Human Biology(which is Anatomy and Physiology), General Chemistry(if you're pre-med you'll take this, if not, you take Chemistry of Human Functioning), and Microbiology. Science electives found in NHS include Pathophysiology, Pharmacology, Genetics of Health and Disease, etc. Also, 3 internships are built into the major, and the big one is first semester senior year, where you go abroad and conduct a research project in a developing region. So, if international health is of interest to you, and you want to go to med school, apply to NHS. NHS also has its own brand new laboratory in one of the med school buildings(NHS is part of the Medical Center so some of our classes take place in the med school), the Discovery Center. So the lab components of any science courses you take, including Human Bio I and II and Microbio(the required iHealth sciences) will take place in this lab. You'll also get to play with GUS, a human simulator that can portray various physiological reactions, including response to giving various medications. This is used mostly by nursing majors, but is used by non-nursing students as well. You'll use him within your first few weeks in Human Biology lab.

Go to SFS if you're interested in foreign affairs but not really the health aspect of that.

Thanks JasonHoya, that was pretty helpful. I have my heart set on NHS but since my only science subject test is a chemistry 650 :( its not very good and honestly its the only thing keeping me back from applying to NHS.

my question is, if i dont like the curriculum at SFS, can i transfer to NHS and if so, what's the latest i can transfer? (sophomore year, 1st semester, etc?)
