Shameless Plug for The Patio

Everyone always talks about the best places to eat in Berkeley, and it's become such a predictable -- although still yummy -- list. Always left out is THE PATIO, on Dwight, near Telegraph, right next to Bongo Burger. Which is tragic. Every time I go there, I'm the only one, and I'm so worried it won't be open by the time I come back in August.

Right now, I'm eating a pesto chicken burger on foccacia bread and AMAZING fries. With a Sprite. Total of $8. The portions are huge.

The place is a little ghetto looking, but the owner is one of the nicest people I've ever met, super friendly. And the wait is a little longer than, say, Smart Alec's, since it's just him and an assistant. But everything is made when you order it, so it all tastes incredibly fresh.

So...please go! & there's a 20% off coupon in the Guide to the Good Life in Berkeley book

Since we're on the subject of good eats in Berkeley, I just came back from Manpuku, a Japanese "restaurant." Great food relative to its price. I had a Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box ($5.95, which includes miso soup, salad, soy beans, a huge portion of teriyaki chicken, a orange slice, and of course, rice) and California Maki ($2.50, which includes six pieces). The staff is friendly. It won't be the best Japanese food you've ever had, but it certainly will satisfy cravings for good sushi, et al.

This thread is pretty shameless alright, haha.

side note: i love me some bongo burger
