Sharing Admissions Result

Hi guys and gals!

I ran into an interesting site for sharing admissions results.

www.yuster.com

My background: I'm applying to HYP, Duke, and UNC.

Does anyone know some sites to estimate chances of admissions?

Good luck!

i don't get it.

i ran into this site while browsing around, and i think it's mostly being used for tracking graduate school applicants, but i thought the functionality is pretty much there for us to use it to share our admissions status as well. they should add the ability to add statistics so that we can see the profile of people that get admitted and dinged.

anyways, i think it's a good way for us to share where we all are in application process. it allows you to share what the admissions decision was and how you heard back, and you can see what other people have heard back as well.

looks like crap to me

Aren't they setting up some kind of scatter plot function for this at Admissionschances.com ?

yeah, i think it's similar, but i think the results are more open. wish they would add some stats though, that would be nice...

I just looked at the site again, looks like they've updated it. I think they've got almost 2,000 admissions decisions from this year already...pretty interesting info...looks like mostly grad school stuff though.

The site looks pretty good, but wish it gave me the ability to enter SAT scores, GPAs, etc. I think that's pretty important information for making sense out of the admissions results.

This site is really useful, I find myself constantly looking at it. The live graphs are pretty interesting statistically. Can you guys add the ability the customize those graphs?

trolls, surrounded by trolls..............

what does troll mean?

I noticed how many of the people are submitting graduate school decisions. Would be great if I can see more ED on undergrads.

It's amazing to see how there is never ending cycle of applications....first you have to do well in high school to get into a good college, then you have to do well in college to get into grad school....when does the cycle end???

its the same loser trying to promote his crappy site. all the people posting have like 2 posts :-/

i'm not promoting the site, i seriously want to know what troll means!

fyi, interesting....here's the definition of troll according the wikipedia...

In Internet terminology, a troll is a person who posts rude or offensive messages on the Internet, such as on online discussion forums, to disrupt discussion or to upset its participants. "Troll" can also mean the message itself or be a verb meaning to post such messages. "Trolling" is also commonly used to describe the activity. For more discussion on definitions, see below.

To "troll" means to allure, to fish, to entice or to bait.

Internet trolls are people who fish for other people's confidence and, once found, exploit it.

Trolls are various in nature and the type of damage they do ranges greatly, such as:

Cause irritation to others
Disrupt an email list or online group
Steal money
Obtain credit card details
Build false hopes
Abuse children

In this case, fishing for traffic to a poor website to build the hit count in hopes of selling advertising.

how do you mean? i shared my happiness, and info with the folks on the thread.
