My D had this experience with another school. She was a NMF with high stats and should have been offered a large merit scholarship according to their website, but wasn’t; she emailed people and never got a response. I encouraged her to email again but she said the same thing, that it was a sign she didn’t belong there. I can see that, bisouu, although I think in your D’s case, it’s the school’s loss.

Bisouu - I’d say it is a sign! Who would want to deal with a school that is so rigid and lacks humanity?? The east coast contingent welcomes her!!!

Sorry to hear that, bisouu. It’s strange because many schools simply request scores electronically so if she designated this school to receive them, then it sounds like it may be their mistake.

Eons ago, received an apology (after the fact) from college board indicating that one testing date of my son’s SAT did not get sent to schools. Fortunately, college board rectified this with the schools. Some things we just can’t control.

Of course the school has to know that stuff happens. It sounds like they are doing the whole logistics weeding out thing, which in my opinion is a really good way to fill your program with people who are really good at logistics! Not necessarily what I would encourage a drama program to do… just sayin’

I think Bisouu is saying that she missed it, not the collegeboard. In this craziness, it is so easy to miss the most obvious thing that is right in front of your face. Could easily be more likely to happen with the safety school which often doesn’t get the same degree of our attention.

That stinks, but it sounds like your daughter will have lots of good choices anyway. This school would probably have been misplacing your tuition checks for four years as well. Some of them are just not very good at the administrative side.

I feel for you, Bissou! We missed a scholarship deadline for a safety school, which pretty much takes it off the list. (D contacted financial aid to see if they would let her submit a late scholarship app, but the answer was no.) It is SO hard to stay on top of everything for so many schools.

D accepted to Northern Illinois University for BFA Acting! And I figured out how to do the red on the accepted thread too!

Congrats to all these acceptances. My S has been accepted to Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama!!! SO excited and relieved. :-)

Love the good news, keep it coming!!!

Congrats!! So wonderful to hear about acceptances!!

@connections - congrats to your son. Cardiff is a fabulous city. My d made the reserve list - maybe she’ll end up there too!

Congrats Connections! Good luck bardsmom.

My son just learned he got into Royal Conservatoire of Scotland! Very excited!

Wow congrats - how exciting! You must be so proud!

Congratulations connections and S. So exciting!!

Remind your kids to check their spam filters when obsessively checking emails! I know of two kids who got callbacks at Mason Gross who would have known a full week earlier had it not been for the spam filter (and in my D’s case, she would have gotten good news the same day she got bad news from Juilliard, which would have significantly improved her Valentine’s Day).

Wow, sparkleshirley–good thing she checked her spam email!

I still learn so much on this board, like, for instance, that my S has had 4 snow days at UNCSA! who knew? For those of you waiting to hear from that school, no one on CC in the past several years has gotten a letter from UNCSA before March, regardless of audition date, so no need to get worked up or stress the mailbox at this point. Since CC went to the new format, it’s hard to tell exact dates, but I remember that someone found out he was accepted while he was attending Rutgers callback weekend, which was March 8-9 last year, and some folks found out March 7 they were accepted. S’s letter came mid-March and while the first three paragraphs sounded like a resounding rejection, it turned out they buried the lead in the fourth paragraph and he’d been placed on the wait list…

Those who were rejected waited painfully about another week after that to get their rejection letters. Happy to report, though, based on CC postings, they ended up in good places!

Thinking of you all going through this. The waiting period was, by far, the hardest part of the whole endeavour!
