This might be sort of a strange topic. I've been asked alot by my friends about where I'm applying to.

Is it a bad thing to share with everyone, especially your possible competitors where you are applying?(granted I know that colleges don't have a cap on # accept per high school).

On the flip side, is it a good idea to find out from your other friends where they are applying so you can get an idea of your chances?

I’ve been wondering the same thing! I decided to only talk about the targets or large schools where classmates won’t be in competition. Not only will it increase (or at least not diminish) your chances, but it will help avoid the shame of the “did you get into…?” when the answer is “no.”

Only share it with people you know who can control their jealousy from pushing them over the edge.

I guess its not too big of a deal. I don’t think I will affect anyone’s school decisions anyways.

However, there is a scenario that I’ve seen happen. Someone really smart applies, and the other person who thinks of applying become more hesitant. Any thoughts?

^If that person becomes hesitant, then he probably doesn’t really want to go to that school in the first place anyway.

Yea, I think i’ll just handle it like I handle grades.
