One of my biggest fears about living in a dorm and having a roommate may sound a little strange. So I’m gonna ask it: "Is there a problem shaving your legs in the room? Should I talk with my roommate about this? How do people shave in college to avoid “attention”?
I am usually using an electric hair removal which makes noise and it takes me about 15-30 minutes.
I think that this is something you should discuss with your roommate. Some people might be fine with it while others might find it repulsive. I usually shave in the shower or bathroom. Maybe doing it there would make more sense for hygienic reasons. If you do decide to do it in the room maybe pick a time your roommate is out and clean up afterwards. I mean it doesn’t really matter, obviously people need to shave and stuff but as long as your roommate is okay with it and you clean up I think it should be fine. Just communicate with your roommate.
This post is from a while ago, so not sure you’re still looking for answers but as someone who sometimes uses and electric razor to shave her legs, I have some imput.
When you first go to shave your legs in your dorm room, you should say something along the lines of, “Hey, does it bother you if I shave in here? I’ll clean up any mess I make.” If she says it bothers her, you’ll have to do it in the bathroom or elsewhere.
I shave in the room after asking my roommate if it was okay, and I always shave over a trash bin and vacuum afterwards. Be clean and courteous, and if you’re worried about the noise, shave when she isn’t there.
