Shenandoah MT Acceptances!

Hey! I started this thread because Shenandoah has just recently wrapped up their auditions and they should be making calls soon! So because I am anxious to hear back and I am sure you and your kids must be too, you can always check this post to see if anyone has heard anything and when you might be able to expect to hear something. And please, if you know anything, share it on the post! Best of luck to all!

Thanks for starting the thread. My S is anxiously awaiting news from Shenandoah so we are on pins and needles over here  Any idea of what their process is? Do they email, snail mail, call?

I know a few people have heard. My son hasn’t heard a No but didn’t get a call. I wonder if they’re still making calls?

Soon after replying my S got a call from Kevin to tell him Congratulations. Super exciting news. The more we hear about Shenandoah the more we love the program. Best of luck to everyone still waiting! And be sure to answer the phone!

My D was accepted today, I need more info on this program.

Haven’t heard anything, worried they called everyone last night…

Congratulations! That’s great!

My daughter got an acceptance call yesterday

My D is still waiting. She did get the “we are still interested email”. Not sure if it’s a good or bad sign that we haven’t had a call yet. Hoping though as this was her top pick :frowning:

Congrats to anyone who got a yes! My friend arrow got a yes last night!

Kevin and my D played phone tag and finally connected today. Acceptance! Yay!

@danralph77 I met arrow at NY Unifieds!!! Super great guy, we are friends on fb so I saw his post, was so happy for him!!! Have you heard from them yet? I, like @missnypizza, haven’t gotten anything since the “we are still interested” email during Chicago Unifieds.

@Monkeiiboy Well my D got the rejection email yesterday. Very upsetting as this was her top. Really loved the vibe and thought it was a perfect fit for her contemporary style. Weird though that yesterday her portal said decision made and today is says application submitted. Anyway, a very big blow. :frowning:

We had a record breaking number of applicants this year and the talent was the best it has ever been. We know how disappointing it is to get a rejection and making the choice to say no to someone is the worst part of our job. We have a limited number of spots and there are numerous factors that come into play when deciding who to say yes to. There are so many talented kids out there that we know we are saying no to students who are going to end up being very successful. Have faith that the student will end up where they are supposed to be. If the first year at the institution they end up at does not go well, they can always transfer. I started at a low level program because I did not get in where I wanted to go and I ended up transferring to one of the top 10 music schools as a junior. And remember hard work trumps everything.

Good luck to all of you.

Thanks for that post Voice Teacher! I am going to show it to my D. We were at the auditions this past weekend and she really loved your program, faculty and campus. I have to say it was a really enjoyable experience for both my D and myself in terms of how kind and welcoming everyone was, particularly your students who were helping out. And what a great treat to get to see “Guys and Dolls” while we were there as well as tour beautiful historic Winchester and Washington D.C. These were all of the things I reminded my D last night when she got the email. Her immediate response was to apologize to me for traveling all the way from CA to VA for “nothing” in her words. She was hurt and disappointed but I told her that experiences like we shared are never for “nothing” and I wouldn’t have changed a thing (well except maybe for that last email part haha!). She has had two amazing acceptances this week to great programs so I know she will end up where she belongs and after the sting wears off I know she will look back on this past weekend’s mother/daughter adventure as a really happy memory.

What does it mean if we’ve not gotten a congratulations call or a rejection email?

My son got his acceptance call from Kevin on Tuesday afternoon. We are thrilled.

The worse thing is to get a good vibe, have a great audition, get that teaser email, and then get rejected. I’m having to peel my D off the floor with this one.

Just placed on Priority Hold. All that waiting for what turns out to be more waiting haha. Still, honored to even be considered and glad to not have a rejection
