<p>Hi, I'm a rising sophomore living on west campus. I'm planning on shipping a large box full of my things to my dorm room. </p>
<p>Does anyone know the process for doing this? Should I just address the box to my room? What will happen if the box gets there before I do?</p>

<p>If the shipment arrives before you do, Duke will have it sent back. Ship it to your dorm address the day before you leave for school and it’ll arrive sometime after you get there yourself.</p>
<p>If you plan to use USPS, send it to your PO Box but make sure it arrives after move in day. </p>
<p>If you plan to use UPS/Fedex/other company, send it to your physical dorm room address to arrive on or after move in day. </p>
<p>If you forget to put your Box number and send it through USPS, it’ll still get there if you send it to 27708 with your name on it but it’ll take an extra day or two for Duke Postal Service to look up your Box number and notify you.</p>
<p>Just make sure that you send it with an arrival date on or after move in date.</p>
<p>Another option is to send your boxes to the UPS store 1 mile away from Duke. They will store it for you at the cost of $5 per box per week. This way, you don’t have to worry about it, but you will have to pick them up from there.</p>
