Does anyone know the best way to ship clothes off? And what is the cost if you are shipping about 4 boxes of clothes?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know. I don't have enough clothes to need to ship them. :D However, I'd be interested. I think I do have to ship a few things.

someone answer this i don't know either.

UPS has pretty good rates or the regular post office, which I now think is more reliable. Just be sure to figure out the approximate value of your boxes and insure them. My daughter packed 3 huge, heavy boxes for college, each box cost about $ 30 to send via UPS - one box was lost. We were eventually paid the insured value, but unfortunately had been cavalier about the value, and had under-insured. Also, there are the smaller boxes at the post office, which have a set price no matter how heavy they are. These might work out better for sending smaller, heavier items, that can really be crammed to fit.

Really not a good idea. Learn to be a minimalist... it's invaluable for packing/traveling. Pack 2 suitcases for your initial trip and go shopping for cheap essentials when there. Have your parents bring winter clothes and less-used items later at parent's weekend, and for thanksgiving, go home with your empty suitcases and refill.

BUT..

What about shipping your bike? I use mine all the time.. it costs a lot at the airport to send.. and inconvenient for a taxi, etc.. obiously it would be big and heavy.. any idea how much it costs?

i just use the post office to ship my things, i have been doing this for the past three years and have yet to lose anything. it will probably be about 30 dollars a box.

We're sending mine on the aeroplane, blairt. My dad looked into it and he says it's cheaper than sending it.

We're shipping sheets, comforter, and towels. It's supposed to arrive on the last week of August if you're sending anything. (for choate)
