For those of you who bought computers through Dartmouth's bannerstudent thing........How long did it take to get your computer? I am flying out to Dartmouth in about three weeks and I need to know if I should have it shipped to my house or if I should just pick it up on campus. I'd like to have it sooner than later to familiarize myself with the mac OS. thanks

i don't know if this is new, but as far as i know people just pick up theirs on the first day of orientation...

there is an option to have it shipped to your house

pick it up on campus. it is definitely hard enough to fit all your clothes, bedding, books, etc in your suitcases. if you're flying to dartmouth, be prepared to either ship stuff ahead of time in boxes, or pay $50-$75 for overweight luggage.

also, don't plan on bringing more than two suitcases. there is no way you can drag three suitcases at a time.

if your parents are driving you up, i never ever want to hear you complain about packing. ;)

My parents each get to check bags, right?.....lol I really am not worried about packing. Im confident I can fit everything I am bringing in two bags. gonna buy more stuff out there...tv and other stuff that doesnt fly well. I need to buy some seasonal attire too. being from california I dont own one of these "coats"

you probably don't need a TV, unless you're set on having one - you get cable on your laptop.

uhhh video games? come on now

I called the computer hotline today and the woman said it would be shipped by the end of the week (plus 3-5 business days for delivery).

thanks ken.

I'll be surprised if you have much time for video games.

When I took my visit to Dartmouth the guys I stayed with played some games. Granted I don't expect it to take up a huge portion of my time, but who doesn't enjoy a nice Madden tournament from time to time?
