Shocked and disappointed to death

Hi, I am an international student who is applying to Swat via ED1.

Today I got my ACT score and it almost killed me.
I had put such a great effort on my essay and application hoping to study in a college which I love for four years and I might not be able to pursue that happiness...

I got 26 on my ACT...
Since I have not taken SAT2, I am sending my ACT score..

From the common data set, 34.9% of were in the range of 24-29(COMPOSITE).
But I got 26.. Do you think I dont have any chance at all?

I personally regard my recommendations and essay as strong and I have decent ECs.

I am a person who lately, maybe during my junior year, realized the potential of oneself.
I really want to go to Swat and the TEST is killing me..

Do you think I have no chance at all? Is Swat really bitter-strict in terms of TEST SCORES?

p.s) I got 109 out of 120 for my toefl. Do you think it will help at least little bit?

Why would you have no chance at all, if 34.9% of the students at Swarthmore were in the range you're in? There's not that much to worry about--work hard on your test, and do the best you can. And apply and see what happens.

Of course you should apply, but dchow08's response is more spin than truth. Though there certainly is a good number of students who get in with those stats, many times they are affirmative action candidates, or those with special circumstances to compensate for the lower scores. Furthermore, competition for international students is incredibly fierce as I'm sure you're aware. Although I don't want to discourage you from applying ED to Swat, I think it's important you know the role of test scores in the admissions process. Test scores usually open the door for review of the extra things in the application (recs, ECs, essays, etc).

But as dchow08 said, apply and see what happens.

Well. Thank you for the reply.

I have already sent my application to Swat.
We'll see what is going to happen.

But I don't think that I will regret about my life, the path I have followed.
I am sastified with myself that I did "try my best."

I actually prayed to God yesterday and somehow, I felt really peaceful.
I know that wherever I end up, it is God's will.

I was just too nervous when I wrote the comment above. However, now I am trying to do best preparing for other colleges. I still hope that Swarthmore will accept me as a family member by seeing my passion.

Have a nice day!
